SoB Internships are full-time, paid, entry-level HR & Marketing roles, usually from mid-November to mid-February. They're for students at New Zealand tertiary institutions, regardless of what you're studying, or what stage of your qualification you are at, you just need to be interested & excited about kick-starting your HR & Marketing career. What you may lack in experience, you can make up for in motivation & passion to learn, fast!
We help students prepare, research and apply for paid work experience and entry-level jobs in HR & Marketing roles during the university summer holidays. During the year, we prepare you for work through exposure to the technical topics & skills that are in demand by local employers, through our Bootcamp programme.
Tertiary students with an interest in developing skills in marketing strategy, communications, digital marketing, social media, human resources, customer support, event management, organisational development, recruitment, and more, we can help! You don’t need skills or experience, just an interest in a HR or Marketing career, and the motivation and passion to learn and develop your skills on the job!
Our internship programme has the following key events and activities:
Free bootcamps (workshops and talks) in Wellington for tertiary students to help you prepare for a career in HR or Marketing. Our workshops and talks are run by experienced HR & Marketing industry professionals – they’ll share what you REALLY need to know to get your first HR or Marketing job in NZ.
Your profile on our website includes your CV, portfolio, technical skills summary, and everything else employers want to see before they meet you. You can check out the organisations and their student/graduate work opportunities on our website, too.
After researching the companies, you can meet them in real life at recruitment events. We’ll help you research and prepare, it’s SO important to make a great first impression! Our intern recruitment events are in September, for summer internships starting October/November.
The hiring process is managed off our website, and it’s up to companies to offer role(s) to their preferred candidates. Summer internship offers happen in early October.
Full time, paid summer jobs! Usually mid November to mid February, our internship roles are entry level HR & Marketing jobs, with a mentor to support and guide you. This is real live work experience, to kick-start your HR or Marketing career in NZ.

Employers interview students shortlisted in quick fire 10 minute interviews, longer interviews are scheduled for top students
Offers: all SoB Internship offers are released on the same day, so you have all your options presented at once.
If you're lucky enough to receive a SoB Internship job offer, it will come in early October.
Internships start: depending on your availability after exams, most internships run from mid November to mid February.
Internships are full time, usually 400 hours during the summer break. Dates are flexible, to be agreed between you and your employer.
