When Good Employees Go Bad – Employment Relations Bootcamp

Tuesday 7 May, Uprise Digital Offices

Join us for this discussion based session on practical employment law in New Zealand.

Back for the third year in a row due to popular demand Ainsley will be discussing what to do when good employees go bad. This is a great session for any aspiring HR professional or anyone who is interested in management positions down the track.

Ainsley Benefield graduated from Victoria University with an LLB with Honours and a BCA majoring in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. Since then she has practised as an employment lawyer for over 10 years, working in leading law firms in Wellington, Dublin and London, including secondments to public and private sector clients, before moving to an inhouse role at News UK (previously known as News International) managing the legal and employee relations impacts of the phone hacking scandal (which she continues to do remotely).

On moving back to New Zealand, Ainsley started working for Humankind as an Employment Relations expert and has recently started her own consulting firm, Hive Consulting. Ainsley provides support on employment relations issues, such as personal grievances, disciplinary investigations, discrimination, mediation, restructuring, change management and the employee issues arising in business sales.

She’ll share the strategies that the Ministry of Education use to attract candidates, the robust recruitment practices they’ve put in place, how they assess candidates for the right skills and abilities, and how they give new hires a great onboarding experience so they’re set up for success in the first few months.

Lilan has previously worked in the private sector, beginning with executive search consultancy for 15 years and then with large corporates for 5 years to set-up in-house recruitment teams and capability. At one point, she headed talent acquisition for the Asia Pacific region at a multinational Forbes’ Top 200 company.
